NAFA 2024 edition is shaping up to be the biggest year yet, buoyed by the award winning guest curator engaged for the 2024 program.
NAFA is ready to roll out the red carpet for a show-stopper festival, curated with the assistance of Helpmann Award winner and Artistic Director and Co-CEO of Dancenorth Australia, Kyle Page.
“NAFA stands as the quintessential artistic gathering in our region and continues to evolve and unfold year-on-year.
“NAFA's commitment to the cultural tapestry of North Australia resonates deeply, and I am delighted to connect with their incredible team to explore new edges of creative possibility in 2024,” he said.

Symphony Under The Stars

Immerse yourself in music at North Australian Festival of Arts in 2024.
NAFA will welcome the full Queensland Symphony Orchestra to Townsville for the first time in seven years for its debut appearance at the festival, performing Symphony Under The Stars featuring Dvorák’s Symphony No.8, a new work by Queensland’s acclaimed composer Paul Dean and Nigel Westlake’s Flying Dream Suite from Paper Planes, plus more.

The Flying Orchestra

Have you ever wanted to experience a symphony orchestra live? This is your opportunity to get up close to the music, as Queensland Symphony Orchestra comes to Townsville Civic Theatre.
In this interactive family concert you will meet the musicians behind the instruments, and marvel as they work together to tell stories and create amazing sounds. Featuring a variety of music including Joe Twists’ magical ‘The Flying Orchestra’, this concert is guaranteed fun for all ages, and the perfect school holiday outing.
